If you want to know what to do in Phuket then you are asking the right people as we know all the best places to go. Here we have put together a set route you can follow to see some of the highlights on the island.

Phuket Town

One of the main Phuket attractions and a good starting point is Old Phuket Town, as it’s very different from the rest of the island and so it would be a shame to not visit. You can get around easily by foot and this is the best way to discover all its treasures. The Sino-Portuguese architecture is very charming and photo opportunities abound in its streets as you stumble upon chinese temples and abandoned mansions. There’s also some really cute coffee houses and colourful traditional shop houses serving delicious food.

From here make your way up to Rang Hill just above town. The road is littered with monkeys and you can stop and watch them for a while before continuing right to the top for a delicious Thai meal at The Phuket View restaurant.

Wat Chalong

Next on the list is a visit to Wat Chalong, one of the most important and most visited Buddhist temples in Phuket. Decorated with detailed paintings of the story of Buddha’s life you can easily spend a few hours there. Admire the golden statues and climb up to the top of the 60m high Chedi temple.
Big Buddha

From here it’s uphill again to the Big Buddha, a 45 meter tall white marble statue visible all over the southern part of Phuket. It’s not only the views and sheer size of the buddha that makes it special though, the thousands of prayer bells tinkling in the wind and peaceful atmosphere is also quite spiritual.

Rawai

Then it’s time for an adventure on the beautiful blue seas for a swim and a snorkel. Rent boat on Phuket and take to the waters around the island, see it from a different angle and really appreciate its beauty. In Rawai you can take a boat trip on a long-tail boat or a traditional fishing boat out to the local islands.

Patong

Then it’s off to Patong for a completely different scene, Bangla Road! A colourful street packed with bars and restaurants, shops and market stalls, and lots of girls, real and fake! Get yourself a beer at one of the pavement bars and just sit for a while and people watch – it really is fascinating.

If you don’t have time to visit everything it’s fine, the sights you do visit will give you beautiful memories and it just means that you will have to come back again! It’s part of the fun of travelling to be spontaneous but you don’t want to miss out on the good stuff, so a little planning is advisable.

La Moet offer boat trips out to Phang Nga Bay and The Phi Phi Islands for the day. You can snorkel the clear waters of The Andaman ocean and immerse yourself in the spectacular scenery.
